Dragon Knight 4 (ドラゴンナイト４) is an erotic role-playing video game developed by ELF Corporation and released only in Japan for several platforms between 1994 and 1997. In 1994, the game first became available for PC MS-DOS, NEC PC-9801 and X68000, with a censored version ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996 and later to the PC-FX, PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1997. It was also adapted into illustrated novels and an anime miniseries.

Dragon Knight 4 is a continuation of the Dragon Knight series, and a sequel to Knights of Xentar. Dragon Knight 4 has a new protagonist, Kakeru, the son of Takeru from the previous games.

Star Ocean (スターオーシャン Sutā Ōshan) is an action role-playing video game developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix for the Super Famicom. The first game in the Star Ocean series, it was released only in Japan in July 1996, and was the first game developed by tri-Ace, consisting of staff that had previously left Wolf Team due to being unhappy with the development process for Tales of Phantasia with Namco in 1995. The game required a special compression chip in its cartridge to compress and store all of the game's data due to possessing graphics that pushed the limits of the aging Super Famicom. Additionally, the game had voice acting for the game's intro and voice clips that played during the game's battle gameplay, a rarity for games on the system.

The story involves three friends who, while searching for the cure to a new disease, come into contact with a space-faring federation that is locked in a war with another galactic power. Using advanced technologies and time travel, the group attempts to uncover the cause of the war and to find a cure for their planet. The Super Famicom version was never released outside Japan due to Enix closing its American branch shortly before the game was finished, as well as Nintendo's focus on supporting the then-upcoming Nintendo 64 video game console. However, the game was later remade by Tose for the PlayStation Portable under the title Star Ocean: First Departure, and released in English-speaking regions in North America, Europe, and Australia in October 2008. The game was the start of the entire Star Ocean series, featuring five games, two remakes, and a manga comic.

Last Bible III is a Japan-only release from Atlus. Unlike the first two Last Bible games, this one was only released once, and for a non-portable system.

Parallel Remodel is a remodeled version of the famous Zelda3 hack Parallel Worlds, that we all know as an extremely difficult game. Parallel Worlds is altogether a great technological marvel, with new gfx, various asm patches, completely new overworld and dungeons etc. It has the potential of being even better than Alttp, but the gameplay is somewhat too radical. The backtracking was (in not so rare occasions) escalated to the extreme, the same goes for the health of some enemies. Some intellectual problems in the dark world dungeons are algorithm marvels: sure this is a good thing for math (Euclid really fits his nickname), but this is not a good thing for the player, who can easily give up.

BS The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets was a game for the BS-X Broadcasting System add-on for the Super Famicom (the Japanese Super Nintendo). Games were downloaded from St. GIGA's satellite radio service. The game was much like a Second Quest or Master Quest of A Link to the Past, sharing a very similar overworld with slight changes and entirely new dungeons. Unlike a Second Quest however, it has an entirely new story. Various actions earned the player points, and these points could later be traded in to Nintendo for different prizes.

Ancient Stone Tablets is different from most other Zelda games as the game's central heroes are actually the avatars of the player's ID for the BS-X Broadcasting System, drawn into Hyrule, which is also true for BS The Legend of Zelda. The difference being that this time the player does not take the place of Link, but takes part in a new tale set after the events of A Link to the Past. The male character wears a green tunic (though others are later available) and a backwards baseball cap. The female character has long red hair and is otherwise almost exactly the same as the male.

Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity is an under developement hack based on the famous Chrono Trigger game.

Madou Monogatari: Hanamaru Dai Youchienji is a role-playing video game for the Super Famicom released in Japan on January 12, 1996. Hanamaru Dai Youchienji is one of the Madou Monogatari series, the characters of which were used in Puyo Puyo.

Dragon Ball Z (Japanese: ドラゴンボールZ(ゼット), Hepburn: Doragon Bōru Zetto, commonly abbreviated as DBZ) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Dragon Ball Z is the sequel to the Dragon Ball anime and adapts the last 325 chapters of the original 519-chapter Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama, that were published from 1988 to 1995 in Weekly Shōnen Jump. Dragon Ball Z first aired in Japan on Fuji TV from April 25, 1989 to January 31, 1996, before being dubbed in several territories around the world, including the United States, Australia, Europe, India, and Latin America.

Dragon Ball Z follows the adventures of the protagonist Goku who, along with his companions, defends the Earth against an assortment of villains ranging from intergalactic space fighters and conquerors, unnaturally powerful androids and near indestructible magical creatures. While the original Dragon Ball anime followed Goku from his childhood into adulthood, Dragon Ball Z is a continuation of his adult life, but at the same time parallels the maturation of his son, Gohan, as well as the evolution of his rivals Piccolo and Vegeta from enemies into allies.

Due to the success of the anime in America, the manga chapters comprising its story were released by Viz Media under the title Dragon Ball Z. Additional works called animanga were released, which adapt the animation to manga form. Dragon Ball Z's popularity has spawned numerous releases which have come to represent the majority of content in the Dragon Ball universe; including 14 movies and 148 video games, many of them being only released in Japan, and a host of soundtracks stemming from this material. Dragon Ball Z remains a cultural icon through numerous adaptations, including a remastered broadcast as Dragon Ball Kai (ドラゴンボール改(カイ), Doragon Bōru Kai, lit. "Dragon Ball Revised") from 2009 to 2011 and from 2014 onwards.

Shin Megami Tensei (Japanese: 真・女神転生, literally "True Goddess Reincarnation") is a role-playing video game from Atlus that was originally released on October 30, 1992 for the Super Famicom. Loosely based on Megami Tensei, a novel and Famicom game series in Japan, Shin Megami Tensei would be the first of many titles in the franchise released by Atlus. A direct sequel, Shin Megami Tensei II, was released in 1994. A third game, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, was released in 2003. The most recent installment, Shin Megami Tensei IV, was released in 2013. Two non-numbered titles, Shin Megami Tensei if... and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, were released in 1994 and 2009, respectively. Shin Megami Tensei has grown a large and loyal following around the world with additional game titles for consumer consoles and handheld systems. Previously unavailable in English (except for an unofficial fan-translated patch of the Super Famicom version, released on June 30, 2002), a localized iOS version was released in North America on March 18, 2014.

Daikaijuu Monogatari II (大貝獣物語II?) is a role-playing video game developed by Birthday and published by Hudson Soft for Super Famicom, in August 1996 in Japan. The game is a sequel of Daikaijū Monogatari.

Ys IV: Mask of the Sun (イースIV -MASK OF THE SUN- Īsu Fō^?) is an action role-playing game developed for the Super Famicom, and is the fourth game in the Ys video game series. Ys series creators Nihon Falcom Corporation licensed its development to Tonkin House.

Mask of the Sun was released in 1993 and was one of two games released under the title of "Ys IV", the other being Hudson Soft's Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys for the PC Engine. The two games share the same basic story, but many changes were made in the Hudson-produced Dawn of Ys. Of the two, Mask of the Sun was the official Ys IV storyline before the release of Ys: Memories of Celceta. Originally a version of "Mask of the Sun" was also planned by Sega for Mega Drive and later Mega-CD under the Sega-Falcom joint development agreement, but this version was ultimately canceled.

In 2005, Taito Corporation developed a remake of Mask of the Sun for the PlayStation 2, titled Ys IV: Mask of the Sun - A New Theory.

Treasure Hunter G (トレジャーハンターG, Torejā Hantā Jī?) is a turn-based tactical role playing game developed by Sting Entertainment and published by Square (now Square Enix). It was released on May 24, 1996. It was published on the Nintendo's Virtual Console service on December 25, 2007 in Japan. The game was not released outside of Japan. This was Square's final game for a Nintendo console, released a scant two weeks before they announced their departure from Nintendo, until the release of Chocobo Land: A Game of Dice for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, in Japan.

Dark Law: Meaning of Death (ダークロウ ミーニング・オブ・デス?) is a 32-megabit, 1997 Super Famicom release—one of the last in the system's history. An ASCII Corporation production, it is the sequel to Dark Lord.

Shin Megami Tensei II (Japanese: 真・女神転生II, Hepburn: Shin Megami Tensei Tsū?) is a video game and direct sequel to Shin Megami Tensei for the Super Famicom released on March 18, 1994 in Japan. It was later remade for PlayStation in 2002, and then for Game Boy Advance in 2003. It is a role-playing video game and part of the Megami Tensei series. Similar to most games in the series, the player is able to persuade demons to join the main characters battle party.

The game was only released in Japanese, although unofficial fan translations to English exist.

Rudra no Hihou – Treasure of Rudras

Angelique (アンジェリーク Anjerīku?) is a Japanese media franchise based on the video game series. Currently, the series has only been released in Japan, with the exception of a Chinese PC version of the first game in the series. It is somewhat popular with overseas import gamers, who have started petitions in the hopes of English-translated releases of various games in the series. KOEI mentioned in an issue of Newtype USA that it is a possibility if enough demand is shown.

Ranma Nibunnoichi – Akanekodan Teki Hihou

Super Robot Wars (スーパーロボット大戦 Sūpā Robotto Taisen?) is a series of tactical role-playing video games produced by Banpresto, which is now a Japanese division of Namco Bandai. The main feature of the franchise is having a story that crosses over several popular mecha anime, manga and video games, allowing characters and mecha from different titles to team up or battle one another. The first game in the franchise was released for the Nintendo Game Boy on April 20, 1991. Later spawning numerous games that were released on various consoles and handhelds. Due to the nature of crossover games and licensing involved, only three games have been released outside of Japan, these games only feature Banpresto's own original characters and mecha. The franchise celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011.

Magic Knight Rayearth (Japanese: 魔法騎士(マジックナイト)レイアース, Hepburn: Majikku Naito Reiāsu?) is a Japanese manga series created by Clamp, an all-female manga artist team consisting of Satsuki Igarashi, Ageha Ohkawa, Tsubaki Nekoi and Mokona. Appearing as a serial in the manga magazine Nakayoshi from the November 1993 issue to the February 1995 issue, the chapters of Magic Knight Rayearth were collected into three bound volumes by Kodansha, and published from July 1994 to March 1995. A sequel was serialized in the same manga magazine from the March 1995 issue to the April 1996 issue, and was published by Kodansha in three bound volumes from to July 1995 to April 1996. The series follows three eighth-grade girls who find themselves transported from modern-day Japan into a magical world, where they are tasked with rescuing a princess. Rayearth combines elements from the magical girl and mecha anime genres with parallel world fantasy. The manga was adapted into two anime series in 1994 and an original video animation (OVA) in 1997.

Metal Max Returns is a Role-Playing game, developed by Crea-Tech and published by Data East, which was released in Japan in 1995.

Love Quest (ラブクエスト?)[4] is a 1995 video game for the Super Famicom that was released exclusively in Japan. Initially, the game was planned to be released for the Family Computer.[5] A prototype copy of this game was leaked into the public and has been sold for a price of 250000 Yen at an online auction that took place in 2008.

Torneko no Daibōken: Fushigi no Dungeon (トルネコの大冒険 不思議のダンジョン Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon^?) is the first game in the Mystery Dungeon series. This installment features Torneko (or Taloon, as he was known in North America), the merchant from Dragon Warrior IV. The game involves Torneko adventuring around in the "Mystery Dungeon" in search of items.

Feda: Emblem of Justice (フェーダ エンブレム・オブ・ジャスティス?) is a tactical role playing game developed by Yanoman and was released in 1994. The game centers around two soldiers forced to fight against the now-corrupted empire they used to serve.

Alcahest (アルカエスト Arukaesuto?) is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo Super Famicom, developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Square. The game was released in 1993 in Japan, and has never been released in other markets. It is notable for being an RPG that uses a password system.

3x3 Eyes: Seima Kourinden is a Role-Playing game, developed by Nova Games Ltd. and published by Yutaka, which was released in Japan in 1992.

Slayers (スレイヤーズ, Sureiyāzu?) is a Japanese comic fantasy media franchise originating in a series of over 52 light novels written by Hajime Kanzaka and illustrated by Rui Araizumi. The novels had been serialized in Dragon Magazine, and were later adapted into several manga titles, televised anime series, anime films, OVA series, role-playing video games, and other media. Slayers follows the adventures of teenage sorceress Lina Inverse and her companions as they journey through their world. Using powerful magic and swordsmanship they battle overreaching wizards, demons seeking to destroy the world, and an occasional hapless gang of bandits. The anime series is considered to be one of the most popular of the 1990s.

Tenchi Muyo! Game Hen (天地無用!げーむ編 Tenchi Muyō! Gēmu Hen^?, Tenchi Muyo!: Game Edition), also known as Tenchi Muyo! RPG, is a Japanese role-playing strategy game developed by Banpresto for the Super Famicom, released on October 27, 1995. It was licensed by AIC and the now former Pioneer LDC. While Tenchi Muyou! Game Hen was never officially translated and released for international consoles, the later dumped ROM image of the game was hacked and translated into English on two occasions. Lina`chan, Nuku-Nuku & Filia's Translations, or LNF, released their functional iteration in 2000, albeit some bugs and textual imperfections.

Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishijūrokubē no Karakuri Manji Gatame (がんばれゴエモン3～獅子重禄兵衛のからくり卍固め～^?) is a Ganbare Goemon series video game released for the Super Famicom, and the third one for that console. It follows the protagonist Goemon as he struggles to recover Wise Man, who has been imprisoned by the evil nun Bismaru far in the future. The game is the first in the series in which the classical quartet (Goemon, Ebisumaru, Sasuke and Yae) are all playable, the magical abilities of the four characters are introduced (Goemon's Sudden Impact and Yae's Mermaid magic for example) and also the first one in which Yae is a playable character in the main series.

This installment takes a radical departure from other games in the series, where they were arranged in levels and worlds. In this case, the areas are totally interconnected, similar to The Legend of Zelda series, including the use of certain items in order to pass certain inaccessible areas.

Live A Live (ライブ・ア・ライブ, Raibu A Raibu, LIVE A ∃VI」<EVIL>?) is a role-playing video game developed by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Famicom released in Japan on September 2, 1994. It was never released outside Japan, but it has been unofficially translated into English.

Live A Live's story begins with a series of seven seemingly unrelated chapters which can be played in any order, based on popular genres such as Western, science fiction, and mecha. Each chapter has its own plot, setting, and characters. Although the basic gameplay is the same throughout the game, each chapter adds a new factor to the basic formula, such as the stealth elements in the ninja chapter. After the first seven chapters are completed, two final, sequential chapters take place, linking the previous chapters into an overarching plot and resolving the story.

Langrisser II is the sequel to Warsong, and was never released outside Japan. Langrisser II was also remade on the Super Famicom (SNES) by Masaya as Der Langrisser, which featured multiple paths through the game, greatly reduced difficulty, and reworked graphics. A PC-FX port of the SNES version, Der Langrisser FX, was also released, featuring animated cut-scenes. It was later compiled with the first Langrisser for the PlayStation as Langrisser I&II, and then given a script edit and new branch of the Imperial path in its final Saturn remake as Langrisser: Dramatic Edition.[1] A Windows 98 release of the game was released in Japanese, Chinese and Korean; it features redrawn, high-resolution graphics, but a vastly trimmed-down soundtrack to fit the confines of a standard length CD.

Romancing SaGa 2 (ロマンシング サ・ガ2, Romanshingu Sa Ga Tsū?) is a role-playing video game developed by Square and released exclusively for the Super Famicom system in Japan on December 10, 1993. It is the fifth title in the SaGa series. Video game music composer Kenji Ito composed the score.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (不思議のダンジョン２ 風来のシレン Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fūrai no Shiren) is a graphical roguelike by Chunsoft. It is the second videogame in the Mystery Dungeon series, and the first game in the series to feature all original characters. It was originally released for the Super Famicom in 1995, and has subsequently been ported to the Game Boy and Nintendo DS.

In September 2007 Sega announced that they would release the DS version in North America.^[1] It was then released March 4, 2008.

Although "Shiren" is the name of the primary character, the Japanese title is a pun; while "Shiren the Wanderer" is the official English title for the game, "風来のシレン" can also translate as "The Wanderer's Ordeals".

Romancing SaGa 3 (ロマンシング サ・ガ3, Romanshingu Sa Ga Surī?) is the sixth title in the SaGa role-playing video game series developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) and released exclusively for the Super Famicom system in Japan. It was also the third and final SaGa title to be released for the Super Famicom. It has also been available on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan since September 21, 2010.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story is a Role-Playing game, developed and published by Angel (Bandai), which was released in Japan in 1995.

Bahamut Lagoon (バハムート ラグーン?) is a Japanese tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square for the Nintendo Super Famicom on February 9, 1996. It was never officially released outside of Japan, but it was unofficially translated into English by DeJap Translations group. It is often called Bahalag (バハラグ) in Japan. Bahamut Lagoon was released on the Virtual Console in Japan on September 29, 2009 for the Wii and on February 5, 2014 for the Wii U.

Terranigma, known as Tenchi Sōzō (天地創造?, officially translated The Creation of Heaven and Earth) in Japan, is a 1995 action role-playing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Quintet. Manga artist Kamui Fujiwara is credited with the character designs. It was published by Enix (now Square Enix) in Japan before Nintendo localized the game and released English, German, French and Spanish versions in Europe and Australia. The game has never been officially released in North America. Terranigma tells the story of the Earth's resurrection by the hands of a boy named Ark, and its progress from the evolution of life to the present day.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (タクティクスオウガ Takutikusu Ōga^?) is a Japanese tactical role-playing game created by Quest. The game was originally released in 1995 on the Super Famicom in Japan and then re-released on the Sega Saturn in 1996 and the PlayStation in 1997.^[4] An enhanced port of the game developed by the original development team was released on February 15, 2011 for the PSP. In some regions, notably Japan, the remake was retitled as Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fate.

Though Let Us Cling Together is the second entry released in the Ogre Battle franchise, it featured dramatically different gameplay than its predecessor. While Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen was more akin to a grand strategy RPG, Let Us Cling Together was a more intimate squad-based isometric tactical RPG. Let Us Cling Together, then, launched a sub-series within the franchise with Tactics Ogre being used to distinguish the two forms of gameplay in later sequels (notably Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis).

Dragon Quest (ドラゴンクエスト Doragon Kuesuto?), known as Dragon Warrior in the USA, is the first role-playing video game (RPG) in the Dragon Quest media franchise. It was developed by Chunsoft for the Family Computer (known in Japan as the Famicom) and published by Enix in Japan in 1986. Dragon Warrior has been ported and remade for several video game platforms, including the MSX, PC-9801, X68000, Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, and mobile phones. A version of the game for Android and iOS has been released in Japan on November 28, 2013.[2] During the game, players control a hero character who is charged with saving the kingdom of Alefgard and rescuing its princess from the antagonistic Dragonlord. Dragon Warrior's story later became the second part in a trilogy that encompasses the first three games in the series. Several anime and manga, which revolved around this overarching plot, were created. Two of the manga take place between the events in Dragon Warrior and its prequel Dragon Warrior III. The game was created by Yuji Horii, who took inspiration from previous RPGs such as Wizardry, Ultima, and his own 1983 title The Portopia Serial Murder Case. Horii wanted to create an RPG which would appeal to a wide audience of people who were unfamiliar with the genre or video games in general, place a greater emphasis than other RPGs on storytelling and emotional involvement, and expose the mainly Western genre to Japan. Manga artist and Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama produced the game's artwork and Koichi Sugiyama composed its music. The North American localization released in 1989 featured numerous changes, including battery-backed RAM save games (rather than using a password save system), modified character sprites and pseudo-Elizabethan English style dialog. Dragon Quest was commercially successful in Japan; its release as Dragon Warrior in North America was less favorably received. Later, Western critics noted the game's shortcomings but acknowledged its importance to the genre. Its original pseudo-Elizabethan English script has been praised in many of these reviews. Fan-made ROM hacks were released with substantial changes to the game. The game's sound effects have also been orchestrated, and its music has been performed at numerous concerts. As a whole, Dragon Warrior has been credited with establishing the basic template for the Japanese console RPGs that followed.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (ドラゴンクエストV 天空の花嫁 Doragon Kuesuto Faibu Tenkū no Hanayome?, lit. "Dragon Quest V: The Heavenly Bride"), known as Dragon Quest: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride in Europe,[7] is a role-playing video game and the fifth installment in the Dragon Quest video game series. Originally developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix Corporation, Dragon Quest V was the first title in the series to be released for the Nintendo Super Famicom (SFC) video game console in Japan on September 27, 1992. It has since been remade for the PlayStation 2 in 2004; which was developed by ArtePiazza and Matrix Software,[1] and published by Square Enix only in Japan. Another remake was made for the Nintendo DS,[8] and was released on July 17, 2008 in Japan.[2] The remake was also released in North America[9] and Europe,[7] marking the first time the game had an official release in either territory. The game was released on February 17, 2009 for the North American market. A version of the game for Android and iOS has been announced for release in Japan in Winter 2014.[6]

Along with Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation, the original Super Famicom release never reached North America. In the absence of an official translation, several fan translations were created between 1998 and 2002,[10] followed by a more recent fan translation of the PlayStation 2 remake.[11]

Dragon Quest V takes place over roughly thirty years of the main character's life, from when he is born through to when he gets married and has a family. The title introduced a gameplay dynamic in which monsters from random encounters may offer to join the player's party. This concept was used in later Dragon Quest games, and in the Dragon Quest Monsters series constituted the primary way to form a party.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation (ドラゴンクエストVI 幻の大地 Doragon Kuesuto Shikkusu Maboroshi no Daichi?, lit. "Dragon Quest VI: Land of Illusion"),[2] Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie in Europe,[3] is a role-playing video game developed by Heartbeat and published by Enix (now Square Enix) for the Super Famicom as a part of the Dragon Quest series. It is the last Dragon Quest game in the Zenithia trilogy.[4] It was released on December 9, 1995 in Japan.[5] This installment in the series was developed by Heartbeat, whereas the previous Dragon Quest games were developed by Chunsoft.[6] In July 2007, Square Enix announced a series of remakes of Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation for the Nintendo DS, making this the first remake of the latter game on other consoles.[7] The title was released in North America for the first time on February 14, 2011 and has now been released in Europe on May 20, 2011. A version of the game for Android and iOS has been announced for release in Japan in Winter 2014.[1] As the sixth installment to the Dragon Quest series, the graphics and gameplay remain close to the other games, with minor additions and upgrades.[8] The graphics were vastly improved from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, which was also for the SNES, but had rather unimpressive graphics due to being an early game on the console. Navigation remains largely unchanged from the previous games and the turn-based battles are still in first-person. Dragon Warrior III, known in Japan as Dragon Quest III: Soshite Densetsu e... (ドラゴンクエストIII そして伝説へ… Doragon Kuesuto Surī - Soshite Densetsu e...?, Dragon Quest III: And thus into Legend...), is a role-playing video game developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix (now Square Enix). It is the third installment in the Dragon Quest series (known as Dragon Warrior in North America at the time of its original release) and the first released for the Famicom in Japan and later for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America. The game saw an enhanced remake for the Super Nintendo in 1996 and the Game Boy Color in 2001, and a port to mobile phones and the Wii in 2009 and 2011. A version of the game for Android and iOS has been announced for release in Japan in Winter 2014.[3] The first three Dragon Quest games are part of the same story, and Dragon Warrior III is the first game chronologically, as well as the third game that features the hero Loto. The story follows "the Hero" who is tasked with saving the world from the archfiend Baramos. Gathering a group of companions into a party, the Hero must travel the world, stopping at various towns and locations, and find their way to the Demon Lord Baramos's lair. Dragon Warrior III expanded on the open world and nonlinear gameplay of its predecessors, and introduced features such as a persistent world with its own day-night cycle, and a class-changing system which was later used in Dragon Quest VI, VII, and IX.[4][5] Dragon Quest III's class-changing system shaped the gameplay of other future RPGs, especially the Final Fantasy series.[6] It has become the top selling Dragon Quest game ever made and Enix's breakout hit with the franchise, launching the franchise's mass appeal in Japan.

Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom is the fifth scenario in the Wizardry series of role-playing video games. It was published in 1988 by Sir-Tech Software, Inc. for the Commodore 64, Apple II and as a PC booter (using DOS). A port for the SNES and FM Towns was later developed and published by ASCII Entertainment in Japan. Wizardry V was released in the US for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System by Capcom in April 1994, and subsequently re-released for the Satellaview subsystem under then name BS Wizardry 5.

The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang (Japanese: 超魔界大戦！どらぼっちゃん Hepburn: Chō Makai Taisen! Dorabotchan^?, lit. "Ultra Demon World War! Little Dorabo"), is an action role-playing video game which was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), developed by Bullet Proof Software and Red Company, and published by Naxat Soft. It was published by Bullet-Proof Software in North America. The game is the sequel to the TurboGrafx-16 game Makai Prince Dorabotchan, which was only released in Japan.
