Power Instinct (豪血寺一族, Gōketsuji Ichizoku?, "The Gōketsuji Clan") is a fighting game series created by Atlus started in 1993. The Power Instinct or Gouketsuji Ichizoku series (often abbreviated as PI or GI for short) is renowned for its more humorous take on fighting games, its music and its often-weird characters.[citation needed]One of the innovations unique to the series was the introduction of the transformation feature. Several of the characters can change their appearance and fighting style by simply executing certain moves (usually a throwing move), though this has not been featured in every entry in the series. Other features include the ability to perform a double jump and attacking while dashing.

Power Athlete (パワーアスリート?), known outside of Japan for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis as Deadly Moves or for the Super NES as Power Moves, is a 1992 fighting video game developed by System Vision and published by Kaneko. It was first released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in North America on August 14, 1992, and in Japan on November 20, 1992. The Super NES version was later released in Japan on November 27, 1992, North America in January 1993, and in Europe on October 4, 1993. It is one of the many fighting games published in the early 90's to capitalize on the success of Capcom's Street Fighter II, it did not achieve the success of its competition, and was largely ignored by most gamers.

Prehistorik Man is a platforming video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Titus Interactive and published by Kemco in Japan in 1995 as P-Man and by Titus Interactive elsewhere in 1996. It is a sequel to Prehistorik 2, featuring similar graphics but richer and different story, additional non-player characters which, among other things provide hints and a tutorial.The game was ported to the Game Boy Advance and DSiWare, with the latter being released in North America on February 15, 2010. Electronic Gaming Monthly gave the game an 8.875 out of 10 and their "Game of the Month" award. They particularly lauded the game's storyline, humorous sound effects, strong play control, and numerous secrets.Famicom Tsūshin scored the Super Famicom version of Prehistorik Man a 27 out of 40.

Prince of Persia is a fantasy platform game, originally developed by Jordan Mechner and released in 1989 for the Apple II, that represented a great leap forward in the quality of animation seen in video games. After the original release on the Apple II, it was ported to a wide range of platforms. The game influenced a subgenre known as the cinematic platformer, which imitated the sprawling non-scrolling levels, fluid animation, and control style.

Princess Maker (プリンセスメーカー?) is a series of Japanese life simulation bishōjo games by the video game and anime production company Gainax. The first Princess Maker, while popular enough to be translated into Chinese, was never released in the United States. Princess Maker 2 was translated by SoftEgg for a North American release, but this release was cancelled because publisher Intracorp went bankrupt. Princess Maker 3, Princess Maker 4, and Princess Maker 5 have subsequently been released. The series has been translated and released in Korea (Fujitsu) and Taiwan (Kingformation). No English translations have been made after the failed attempt of Princess Maker 2.Petite Princess Yucie, an anime series loosely based on the third game but with characters from all of the games, ran for 26 episodes in 2002-03.

Pro Sport Hockey, known in Japan as USA Ice Hockey in FC (ユーエスエーアイスホッケー イン エフシー, Yū Esu Ēa Isuhokkē in Efu Shī?), is a 1993 multiplatform ice hockey video game that was released for the NES and Super NES.

Radical Dreamers: Nusumenai Hōseki (Japanese: Radical Dreamers –盗めない宝石–?, lit. "Radical Dreamers: The Unstealable Jewel") is a Japanese video game produced by Square (now Square Enix) in 1996 for the Satellaview add-on for the Nintendo Super Famicom. It is a text-based visual novel in which the player takes the role of Serge, a young adventurer accompanied by Kid, a teen-aged thief, and Gil, a mysterious masked magician. The game belongs to the Chrono series and is a gaiden, or side story, to the 1995 game Chrono Trigger. It was released to complement its predecessor's plot, and later served as inspiration for Chrono Cross. It features text-based gameplay with minimal graphics and sound effects, and was scored by composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Radical Dreamers and other Satellaview titles were planned to be released at the Akihabara electronics district of Tokyo. Square also tried to integrate it into the Japanese PlayStation port of Chrono Trigger as an Easter egg. Writer and director Masato Kato halted both releases, unhappy with the quality of his work. Though the game was never officially released abroad, ROM hackers completed an English fan translation in 2003. Unlike many Satellaview titles, Radical Dreamers was not designed to lock after a certain number of play-throughs, so players owning an 8M Memory Pack onto which the game was downloaded can still play today.

Rise of the Robots is a 1994 fighting game developed by Mirage Studios and published by Time Warner Interactive. It was ported to numerous home console and computer formats, and was also released as an arcade game cabinet. The game is very similar in style and gameplay to other fighting games popular at the time, such as Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat, but with pre-rendered CGI sprites rather than pixel art or digitized sprites. The game's characters, including the player, are all robots, and the plot borrowed heavily from the cyberpunk genre, specifically such movies as Blade Runner, Metropolis, RoboCop and The Terminator. Rise of the Robots was announced early in development, and generated considerable buzz for its advanced graphics. On release it became notorious in the video gaming industry for myriad crippling gameplay problems. Today it is generally considered one of the least successful and most critically reviled fighting games of its time.

River City Ransom, originally released as Downtown Nekketsu Story (ダウンタウン熱血物語, Dauntaun Nekketsu Monogatari?, lit. "Downtown Hot-Blooded story") in Japan and later as Street Gangs in PAL regions, is a video game for the Family Computer/NES. It was developed by Technōs Japan and originally released in Japan on April 25, 1989. It is the third game in Technos' Kunio-kun series released for the console, preceded by Renegade and Super Dodge Ball. Like its predecessors, River City Ransom underwent great changes in its storyline and graphical presentation during its localization in order to make the game more palatable in the western market. It was one of the first console games published by North American subsidiary American Technos. Remakes of the game have been released for the Sharp X68000, PC-Engine Super CD-ROM², and Game Boy Advance (GBA). The NES version was re-released on the Wii's Virtual Console in 2007. It was also released on the 3DS Virtual Console in the PAL Regions in July 25, 2013 and in North America in November 14, 2013.
