Madden NFL 98 is a football video game. It features John Madden on the cover. It was the last version of the Madden series to be released for the SNES, Sega's Genesis, and Saturn platforms as well as the last Madden game to utilize the 2D sprite based in-game models for the players/referee, on 3D playing fields.

The Green Bay Packers had the best team overall in the game with a 95. The worst team overall was the Baltimore Ravens with a score of 71. A 3 way tie between the Dallas Cowboys, the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers for the best offense with a perfect score of 100. There is also a 3 way tie for the best defense in the game between the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers with a score of 97. The San Diego Chargers had the best special teams in the game with a score of 96.

Madden NFL 97 is the first Madden NFL football game to be created in the 32-bit gaming era. It was originally created for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn, but other versions were also released, including the 16 bit Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

This was the first edition of Madden to implement the use of a salary cap when customizing team rosters. It also featured the new Baltimore Ravens, the expansion franchise that absorbed the roster of the Cleveland Browns for the 1996 season. The game also adds a team of real free agents (as opposed to the blank slate used in Madden 96) which can be traded and added to other teams' rosters (led by recently semi-retired quarterback Randall Cunningham), and could be played by using a cheat code.

Madden NFL '96 is a football video game designed for the 1995 NFL season, licensed by the NFL. The AI has been boosted and can now hurry in two-minute drill situations, spike the ball, and cover the receivers with better efficiency.

It was the last to explicitly be endorsed by the NFL on Fox, although a knock-off/rendition of the NFL on Fox's iconic theme would continue to be used in Madden for several years afterward.

Madden NFL '95 (for the Sega Genesis only) was the first Madden game to have both the NFL team logo and NFLPA licenses. This version of Madden NFL was also the first Madden to showcase no passing windows, though passing windows can be retained using the options menu. Previously included "Past Championship Teams" and "All-Franchise" teams are not included. Player stats are tracked individually both in-game, and throughout a season. The cover has John Madden on it, but it also features two actual NFL players, Dallas Cowboys left tackle Erik Williams and San Francisco defensive lineman Karl Wilson who has his number edited to show the fictional number 70 which was not used on the 49ers roster.

It was released to both the Game Boy and Sega Game Gear.

The game also features the theme song from the NFL on Fox.

Zool also known as Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension is a video game originally produced for the Amiga by Gremlin Graphics in 1992.

Zool was intended as a rival to Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog. It was heavily hyped upon its initial release, including being bundled with the newly launched Amiga 1200, although not the AGA version with enhanced graphics which followed later. In 2000 the game was re-released as part of The Best of Gremlin compilation.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a run and gun video game developed by LucasArts and originally published by Konami for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis consoles in 1993.

One or two players take control of protagonists Zeke and Julie in order to rescue the titular neighbors from monsters often seen in horror movies. Aiding them in this task are a variety of weapons and power-ups that can be used to battle the numerous enemies in each level. Various elements and aspects of horror movies are referenced in the game with some of its more violent content being censored in various territories such as Europe and Australia, where it is known only as Zombies.

While not a massive commercial success, the game has been well received for its graphical style, humor and deep gameplay. It spawned a sequel, Ghoul Patrol, released in 1994. In 2009, Zombies Ate My Neighbors was re-released for the Virtual Console to positive reviews.

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel is a game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Mega Drive. It is a spin-off of the Aero the Acro-Bat series.

The main star is Zero, Aero's rival from the previous games. A version for the Game Boy Advance was planned in 2003, but it was never released.

Young Merlin is a video game for the Super Nintendo released in 1994. The game follows a young Merlin as he enlists the help of the Lady of the Lake to help him defeat the evil Shadow King.

Yoshi's Safari, known in Japan as Yoshi no Road Hunting (ヨッシーのロードハンティング Yosshī no Rōdo Hantingu^?) is a video game made for the Super NES in 1993. Yoshi's Safari takes advantage of the Super Nintendo's Mode 7 capability, which allows backgrounds to be transformed by rotating or stretching it.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is a 1995 platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. In order to reunite baby brothers Mario and Luigi, the latter who has been kidnapped by Bowser's minions, the player controls Yoshi, a friendly dinosaur, through 48 levels while carrying Baby Mario. As a Super Mario series platformer, Yoshi runs and jumps to reach the end of the level while solving puzzles and collecting items. In a style new to the series, the game has a hand-drawn aesthetic and is the first to have Yoshi as its main character. The game introduces his signature abilities to flutter jump, produce eggs from swallowed enemies, and transform into vehicles.

Yoshi's Cookie (ヨッシーのクッキー Yosshī no Kukkī^?) is a 1992 tile-matching puzzle video game developed by Bullet-Proof Software for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, and Super NES video game consoles. The NES and Game Boy versions were published by Nintendo while the Super NES version was published by Bullet-Proof Software.

Yoshi's Cookie was later remade and included in the compilation game Nintendo Puzzle Collection, released in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube in Japan. The NES version was re-released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2008 and available until October 18, 2013 in North America and October 11, 2013 in Japan and Europe.

Adventures of Yogi Bear is a multi-platform game released by Cybersoft on October 1, 1994 in North America and later in Japan and Europe. The game is called Yogi Bear in Japan, Yogi Bear's Cartoon Caper for the European Super NES version, and Yogi Bear: Cartoon Capers for the European Sega Mega Drive version.

X-Zone (エックス・ゾーン^?) is a game released in 1992 by Kemco for the Super NES. It was one of the few games to support the Super Scope light gun.

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is a side-scrolling action game released by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994. The game is based on the X-Men comic book franchise and is based on the early 1990s X-Men animated series. It was the second game Capcom released based on the franchise, the other being a fighting game titled X-Men: Children of the Atom, also released in 1994.

X-Kaliber 2097, released as Sword Maniac (ソード・マニアック Sōdo Maniakku^?) in Japan, is a Super NES action video game published by Activision.^[1]

The game takes place in the near-anarchic future of the year 2097, in which the world's economy has been devastated, governments have collapsed, and organized crime has gained dramatic influence. In X-Kaliber 2097, the player guides a swordsman named Slash through a side-scrolling environment. Boss encounters take place as one-on-one matches in the style of versus fighting games.

Vortex (formerly known as Citadel) is a 3D shooter game developed by Argonaut Software and released by Electro Brain for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in September 1994. It is one of a few titles designed to use the enhanced graphics of the Super FX powered GSU-1.

Virtual Bart is one of the many The Simpsons licensed games. It was released for the Super NES and Mega Drive/Genesis in 1994 by Acclaim. The official guide to the game (Virtual Bart: Official Game Secrets) was written by Steve Schwartz (Prima Publishing, 1995). A Virtual Boy port of this game was planned, however it was never released because of the failure of the console.

Kōryū Densetsu Villgust (甲竜伝説ヴィルガスト^?, off. "Armed Dragon Fantasy Villgust") is an RPG that is only available in Japan for the Super Famicom. The object of the game is to rescue your girlfriend and to return to modern Japan from a parallel medieval world. The player controls five people as they fight apes and skeletons for experience points. There are lots of weapons to buy and players can only enter certain houses that have doors visibly on them.

It was adapted into a pair of anime OVA episodes in 1992–1993.

In 1993, a Kōryū Densetsu Villgust Gaiden was released for the Family Computer.
