Prisoners of the Sun is a video game based on The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun from the series The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. It was released for the SNES, Windows, Game Boy and Game Boy Color by the late 1997 and 2000.

Aero Fighters, known as Sonic Wings (ソニックウィングス, Sonikkū~ingusu?) in Japan, is a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released in 1992 by Video System, ported to the Super Famicom in 1993 and the Super Nintendo in 1994. An emulated version of the game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 only in Japan as part of the Oretachi Geasen Zoku Sono series.It spawned two sequels for the Neo-Geo, one for the arcades (with ports to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn) and one in 3-D for the Nintendo 64. Most of the creative team that worked on Aero Fighters created Strikers 1945 and other shmups for Psikyo.

Aero the Acro-Bat is a Super Nintendo and Mega Drive/Genesis game created by David Siller (of Maximo: Ghosts to Glory fame), developed by the now defunct Iguana Entertainment, and published by Sunsoft on October 1993.

Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is a video game released by Sunsoft in April 1994. It is the sequel to Aero the Acro-Bat and dedicated to famed Brazilian racer Ayrton Senna who died in a car crash during a Grand Prix.A version for the Game Boy Advance was planned in 2003, but it was never released. It was however, released on the Wii Virtual Console in the PAL region on August 6, 2010 and in North America on September 20, 2010.

Aerobiz (エアーマネジメント 大空に賭ける?, "Air Management: Ōzora ni Kakeru") is a business simulation video game for the Super Nintendo, Sharp X68000 and Mega Drive/Genesis game consoles, released in 1992 by Koei.As CEO of a budding international airline, the player has a limited amount of time to expand their business to become the industry leader against three other airlines (either AI-controlled or human opponents). The player has an amount of control over how their airline develops, such as the name, investments, what routes to fly, plane purchases, and other various aspects, while at the mercy of world events such as politics (for instance, if the player runs his or her airline out of Moscow, he or she can initially only buy Soviet planes and will have a harder time negotiating with Western nations) and natural disasters. The player can also get the company involved in peripheral businesses such as hotels and shuttle services. Once Perestroika is initiated, then the Cold War restrictions no longer apply in the game.The sequel Aerobiz Supersonic was released in August 1994 for the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis. The player is presented with a wider variety of options in nearly everything, but the game play is much the same. Another sequel known as Air Management '96 was released only in Japan for the Sega Saturn and PlayStation.

As a pilot in the Air Strike Patrol, the player's aim is to stop Zarak from invading Sweit.

Disney's Aladdin is a series of platformer video games based on the 1992 motion picture of the same name. Alien 3 (stylized as Alien³) is a 1992 science-fiction thriller film and the debut feature film of director David Fincher. The film is the third installment of the Alien film series. The film takes place right after the events of Aliens (1986), an escape pod from the Colonial Marine spaceship Sulaco crash-lands on a prison-run refinery planet, killing everyone aboard except Lieutenant Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver). Unknown to Ripley, an Alien organism was also aboard the escape pod, which then begins a killing spree in the prison.The film had a difficult production, with various screenwriters and directors getting involved in the project, and shooting began without a finished script. The film was the big-budget debut of a young David Fincher, who was brought into the project after a proposed version with Vincent Ward at the helm was cancelled well into pre-production. Fincher had little time to prepare, and the experience of making the film proved agonizing for him. Besides the need to shoot and rewrite the script simultaneously while fitting in sets that had already been built, filming was also plagued by incessant creative interference from studio executives, who overruled many of Fincher's decisions and dictated a large part of production. Another complication arose when Jordan Cronenweth had to be replaced by Alex Thomson as he was suffering from Parkinson's disease more acutely than he had ever experienced since his diagnosis in 1978. Adding to Fincher's burdens was the pressure to create a film worthy of the previous two and their revered directors. Upon completion, the studio dismantled and reworked the film without Fincher's consent, including a teaser trailer that suggested the film would take place on Earth. Fincher has since disowned the film, citing the aforementioned reasons. A heavily-revised version of the film, known as the Assembly Cut, was released in 2003, which Fincher was not involved with.The film was released to mixed reviews. While under-performing at the United States box office, it earned over $100 million outside of North America and was considered a financial success. There have been thirty-eight officially licensed video games, one trading card game, and one tabletop miniatures game released as tie-ins to the three franchises.The first video game connected to the Alien franchise was released in 1982, based on the 1979 film Alien. Subsequent games were based on that film and its sequels Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992), and Alien Resurrection (1997). The first video game in the Predator franchise was released in 1987, the same year as the Predator film on which it was based. Subsequent Predator games were based on that film and its sequels Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010). The first game to cross the two franchises was Alien vs Predator, released in September 1993 and based on an earlier comic book series. This game was based on a storyline used by Marvel Comics back in 1993 entitled "The Lethal Foes of Spider-Man."The cover art for the game was designed by comic book artists Mark Bagley, Karl Kesel, and Paul Mounts.

American Gladiators is an American competition television program that aired weekly in syndication from September 1989 to May 1996. The series matched a cast of amateur athletes against each other, as well as against the show's own gladiators, in contests of strength and agility.The concept was created by Dan Carr and John C. Ferraro, who held the original competition at Erie Tech High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. They sold the show to The Samuel Goldwyn Company (later MGM) where the concept was enhanced and became American Gladiators.An effort in 2004 to launch a live American Gladiators show on the Las Vegas Strip became mired in a securities fraud prosecution. However, the television series was restarted in 2008. Episodes from the original series were played on ESPN Classic from 2007 to 2009. Several episodes are available for download on Apple's iTunes Service.
